2011 CARBON MAAS 24, ULTRALIGHT, NEW, COSMETIC SECOND, WITH CUSTOM GRAPHICS

Sale Price $3900

Over the years we have attempted to build an even lighter weight carbon shell so we have experimented with different materials and construction methods. Despite our efforts, we were not able to achieve our goal of shaving off 5 pounds, so we once again abandoned this project. This boat is slightly less durable than a standard Carbon Maas 24 due to the E glass outer skin.  It is similar in durability to a standard fiberglass boat, though it weighs less.  This boat is not recommended for rowers over 185lbs.

It has a cosmetic flaw called an “alligator” which is on the fore deck. An alligator occurs when the gelcoat is very thin and cures more quickly than the surrounding gelcoat and sort of “shrivels”. This defect is cosmetic only, not structural.   It is not pretty, but is limited to an area of approximately 4” square.

Optional bailer or large fin not included but may be added at buyer’s request (bailer $150, large fin $48).
